Which dog owner won't feel proud of his disciplined dog? Reversely, who won't feel ashamed of an unruly dog? It is very important for your dog to be absolutely obedient to commands of his owner. You can't expect your dog to be obedient by birth or nature. You have to take pains to make him understand obey your commands.
Obedience training to your dog can be imparted in many ways - two of the more popular methods are typically carrot and stick methods. First method heavily depends on the stick or punishment approach. Second method deals with the reward system for the dog.
Leash and collar method of dog obedience training has survived for a long time now. It is primitive but still mostly followed. The premises of this training method are based here - leash will be the mode of communication with the dog. Dog must understand the commands, and if not obeyed to, leash should be put to action. Using leash alone is not sufficient - dog must be made aware of the good and bad behavior. Once tracked on the path to bad behavior, dog can be punished with the leash.
Reward system doesn't believe in punishing the dog. It follows psychological approach to deal with dog training. Dog is made to know the good parts of behavior and rewarded for the same. His ugly behavior is neglected in the form of psychological treatment. The trainer or owner walks away from the dog immediately after the show of bad behavior. Dog is an intelligent animal to understand the difference between the bad and good behavior.
Whatever technique is used for dog obedience training, it is important to know that the training must be consistent. Dogs get easily confused due to double standards employed. If you expect your dog never to jump on the bed, never let or invite him on the bed. Ensure that your dog never reaches the bed.
Obedience training starts on the fundamental issues like sitting, standing, walking, listening to your commands & following those, sitting in the car, etc.
The dog owner can easily impart obedience training. You may find alternates to this by getting your dog enrolled with some obedience classes or dog instructor. Evaluate all the training techniques, methods, equipment, infrastructure, experience, etc before taking the final decision on outside help. Remember, the most ideal way will be yourself to be the instructor. Your dog will love it.

Classical Riding: How to Mentally Master the Half Pass
I am currently having a little problem with half pass. More specifically, half pass to the left. Somewhere along the line I have convinced myself that I cannot do it. Beau can do a near perfect half pass. I know he can, because I have seen him carry my friend Sylvia Loch graciously across my school, without exerting himself in the slightest. So I know my horse can do it. The problem is me. I can't.
Considering I have written nearly half a dozen articles on limiting beliefs, to find myself at the mercy of such an obviously erroneous belief is humiliating, to say the least.
Makes no difference. I still can't do it.
You may be familiar with the concept that your beliefs create your reality. A belief is a thought that has been repeated in your mind so many times that you know it to be true. Sometimes the things we believe really are true, but other times we have tricked ourselves into believing something is true, even if it isn't. I have convinced myself that I cannot do half pass to the left. The strangest thing is, I can do it without thinking to the right. Always could. I just have to think "half pass to the right" and off he goes. I get the distinct impression that my own mind is playing games with me.
How does this fit together? I am as convinced that I can do half pass to the right as I am convinced that I cannot do it to the left. Should I somehow manage to suppress the conviction that I cannot do half pass to the left, the slightest obstacle I encounter will convince me that my original belief was correct: I don't have what it takes!
In order to alter my limiting beliefs I need to be willing to question their validity. Once one becomes fully aware of the incorrectness of one's limiting beliefs, it's a simple matter to begin changing them and replacing them with more affirmative beliefs. The good news is that once you start to question your beliefs and act differently, you eventually create proof that the new belief is true which eradicates the old, limiting belief!
Affirmations. I have also written several articles about affirmations. I think I have a list of tips somewhere that can help me write effective affirmations for eradicating limiting beliefs...
Here it is. Affirmations should be:
1) Stated in the present tense. You don't want to say, "I will learn to ride half pass to the left" because that makes it sound like you'll get around to it someday. Instead you could say, "I choose to ride half pass to the left effectively." The wording of that affirmation does two things: it empowers you with the addition of the words "choose to," and it puts the timeframe in the present moment.
2) Believable. At the same time, your affirmations should be believable to you. If you tried to say, "I am the best half pass rider in the world," you may not really believe that, so your subconscious mind might reject it. Instead, try to focus on a process rather than an end result in your affirmations.
3) Said in an appropriate tone. When you recite affirmations, you can do so aloud or just mentally, but you should focus heavily on the TONE you use. Rather than saying the words without emotion like you were reading a newspaper really inject an element of focus and determination into them. Your subconscious mind picks up on the emotional aspect of what you're saying more than the actual words. Imagine the difference between saying the words, "I really ride a good half pass to the left" in a sarcastic tone.
4) Repeated frequently. Once you've got some affirmations formed to work on your self-esteem, try saying them several times a day. Remember, your subconscious mind is constantly playing back old, negative messages, so you want to counteract those as much as possible.
5) Given time to work. Finally, remember that it will take time to change those old, negative messages in your mind to something more positive. It may take a few weeks or even months before you'll notice an obvious difference, and you may be tempted to think it isn't working. Keep with it, and your patience and perseverance will be rewarded!
I sincerely hope it won't take that long. Better get started then.

Do You Need To Buy A Dog Bed?
Starting out with the correct behavior can help keep your dog fit and healthy. By observing your dog, you will have a better idea of what product to look for as his daily comfortable resting place. The bed will give your pet somewhere to feel secure and safe.
So How do I choose a Dog Bed?
First ask yourself these questions; Does he avoid the bed because he needs to cool off? Does he like to be able to rest his head with a view of the entire room? Does your pooch shed or have any other disorder that will cause the bed to need constant cleaning? Focusing on your dog's daily behavior will help you select the perfect dog bed for your pet.
Measure your dog when his is comfortably sleeping. The most efficient way to make sure you are ordering the correct size bed is by measuring your hound in his favorite laying position and adding five inches. If you cannot measure your dog when he is laying down, you can also measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail and then add five inches.
Spend some time determining which bed is best suited for your dog, keeping in mind that this will become a favorite resting place for your pooch! Beware, low quality beds are easily torn and fall apart. They never really offer your canine the benefits of a higher quality bed.
Benefits of Using a Dog Bed
Sleeping on a cold hard floor can cause chronic pain and additional discomfort, so look for a dog bed with good foam. Be aware that Orthopedic foam tends to provide additional warmth so if you live in a warmer climate, your dog may prefer a cooling bed like the Canine Cooler to the traditional orthopedic bed. A raised bed keeps your pet cooler in summer and off the drafty floor in winter.
If your canine spends a lot of time outdoors, or even in kennels then a cot style bed may be the best. It can keep your pet off of the cold floor in winter and keep them cool in summer as mentioned above.
Dogs don't like to feel exposed especially when they're trying to sleep. A good choice is a bolster bed with its high back. This gives your pet a safe, cozy haven as well as a place for a nice pillow to rest their heads. It also prevents drafts and can protect your walls from damage while your pet sleeps.
Picking the right dog bed will help with any allergies you may have and also help clean-up. It provides you with a single area where the majority of the shedding and/or dander is contained. Choose a style with a machine washable cover that can easily be thrown in the washing machine when dirty or soiled.
Beds with sides are great for dogs that like to hang their head over the edge.
Cushions and support should be considered for older dogs, as well as pooches with other joint or bone problems.
Similar to humans, dogs also experience changes as they age. Their joints can stiffen, or their bones become thinner. When this occurs you should start to look at the dog beds that use Orthopedic foam to help support your dog and keep him warm.
When a dog owner thinks about what products will be needed for their new pet, a high quality dog bed should be well up on the list. Even if it's a perfect fit for your house it's really important that your dog can lay down in the bed. If the bed doesn't fit, your dog won't use it no matter how good it looks.

Find Out Everything About The Parrots Of The World
Parrots have always been very popular birds because of their interesting behavior and bright appearance. Nowadays parrots of the world include a lot of types. Each type is unique either for its color, or size, or ability to be trained and taught to speak. The parrots native land is mainly tropical woods of South America, Australia, New Zealand and South-West Asia.
Why Parrots Are Interesting?
Parrots appearance is most interesting due to color. In fact, parrots are considered to be the most colorful type of birds. Plumage of a parrot may have various colors - red, yellow, dark blue, black, white, but the most popular color is green. Usually parrots of the world have all shades of green color, and just a few types have not.
Other remarkable features of parrots are massive beaks and paws. The beak has such important functions as crushing nutshells and supporting the bird during climbing up the trees. The paws of a parrot seem short and clumsy, but actually these are very flexible parts of body. Paws help parrots to hold on branches and to eat. You see, parrots fingers are so amazingly plastic, that a parrot can successfully keep in paws a walnut as well as an oat.
Usually the most famous parrots of the world may be seen in zoos. We can frequently find cockatoos and there a type of parrots that were first brought from Australia or the islands of the Indian Ocean. These are large white, pink or black birds with a crest on the head. Other outstanding parrots of the world are macaws that came from South America and are popular for their length equal to meter or more. African Grey parrot is the best chatterer among parrots of the world. One African Grey parrot is known for managing to learn 800 English words! Budgerigars, Australian parrots with a long tail, are considered to be the best bird pets because they are rather easy to maintain they are not large, not too noisy and may be trained successfully.
The Reasons Why Rare Types of Parrots Disappear
Unfortunately, parrots allure has provoked to extermination of many rare kinds of these birds. People extirpate a huge amount of parrots, especially large ones, for their tail feathers, which are sold to the tourists afterwards. Also, parrot collectors, who are ready to pay any sum of money to get a rare kind, make the most beautiful and rare parrots of the world disappear.
Another reason is black markets where parrots are sold illegally. Many parrots perish during transportation, and if even they manage to reach their final owner they usually suffer very much from inappropriate climatic conditions and lack of proper care.
But, perhaps, the main reason of parrots disappearance is severe felling of tropical woods. Irresponsible organizers of that regard tropics as means of getting profit, and they do not realize that thus they harm to flora and fauna. Parrots inhabitancy gets destroyed, birds feel lack of forage and are constantly under stress because of necessity to change a place of habitat.

The Snowshoe Cat: a Rare Breed
The Snowshoe is another breed of cat that came late on the scene, originally cross-bred between a Siamese and American Shorthairs during the 1960s in the United States. While they come in all of the familiar colors of the Siamese, chocolate, blue, seal and lilac, they can also be mitted and bicolor. However, unlike Siamese, these cats, which look so much like their Siamese ancestors, have very distinctive white mitted paws, something you've never seen in a true Siamese. The first kittens of this breed came about when two Siamese cats owned by Dorothy Hinds Daugherty of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, gave birth to three kittens that had absolutely striking white feet. It was this trait that gave the cats their name Snowshoes. They have become increasingly popular in the United States as well as the world over. These adorable animals have been labeled with a plethora of adjectives, all of them good, and make wonderfully delightful, social companions. Because they haven't been bred to meet any extreme demands, nor been plagued with inbreeding, which is often done to produce certain traits in animals, they remain healthy with no inherent health problems that can spring up later, aside from the typical diseases that you would normally guard your cat against. Vigorous, intelligent cats, should you decide to adopt a Snowshoe cat, if there isn't someone home most of the time with them, you should probably adopt two, or have another pet with them, so that they have someone to play with throughout the day. Snowshoes don't like being left alone for long periods of time. But don't mistake being highly active and alert for being high strung, because Snowshoes are not. They get along wonderfully well with other animals so you wouldn't have to worry about bringing them into your home if you already have a pet or two. One of the things that make a Snowshoe cat even more different from your ordinary feline is that they love running water. Turn on a faucet when most other cats are standing nearby and you are likely to see them scampering off in a big hurry to get away from the water. They have a soft, melodic voice and can be talkers. They just love to be around people and are perfect people companions. Like most cats, you should keep your Snowshoe Cat indoors to keep it safe from urban dangers and to help keep it free of parasites such as fleas, ticks and other pests that can literally sap the life out of your beloved pet. It only makes sense that as pet owners, we should take the utmost care to keep our cats and other pets safe from unnecessary dangers. Snowshoes not only have distinctive white paws, but also have white markings on their stomach, chest, and face, and bright blue eyes that set off their adorable Lone Ranger mask that will steal your heart away.
